Indonesia, made up of over 17,000 islands, is tucked away between the two oceans of the Indian and the Pacific, North of Australia and South of Malaysia. Bali is only one of those islands and just a dot on the map by comparison, but in many ways, it is a world apart from all of the others!
Bali is only a 2 or 3 hours flying time from Singapore or northern Australia. It is a stunning and truly unique island which has captured the imagination of travellers from around the world. It has therefore, become easily accessible to us all with daily national and international flights arriving into Denpasar, the islands capital.
As first timers we had lots of input from friends of where they went and why and all enthusiastic that we should go there but as we have not been there before all it did was confuse as we no idea where Kuta, Legian, Sanur, Seminyak or Ubud were. These maps should help and i will ad more soon. Click on each map for a larger image.
WHAT TO WEAR? Light clothing, sandals or flat shoes, sun glasses and a bottle of water. For the middle of the day sun screen and hat.
I will add more maps as i find good ones.
