Australians that go to Bali every few years or those that go several times a year often have a private driver that they call on. These drivers names and phone numbers are shared between friends because they have been proved to be reliable and honest. In many instances they are considered part of a extended family.
I unashamedly introduce to you, two such drivers that were recommended to me by close friends that have been to Bali many times and I found them just as i was told they would be. That is, speak Australian English , easy going and are well presented. These two drivers are brothers and have late model Toyota vehicles which are air conditioned front and rear { believe me very important in Bali particularly in the high humidity wet season } The older brother is called Gede pronounced Good Day and the younger brother is called Mickey – pronounced Mickey. You can use them for short trips, pick ups to and from the airport, half day or full day tours.

Both vehicles can carry either 4 passengers plus luggage or 7 passengers on tour or for shopping. For pricing ring or email Gede as where u go to and return from can have infinite variations and when in Bali do what the Balinese love doing, barter and then barter some more. We agreed on pricing each day they were required and each was different. As a general guide for a vehicle and driver including up to 7 passengers for half a day is Au$45.00 or a full day Au$65.00 To keep this in perspective i recently caught a taxi from Perth Airport to home, max time 20 minuets and it cost me Au. $50.00 inc a small tip.

On recent trip we used Mickey as driver. He was punctual, excellent value and polite. He was prepared to go anywhere and did not mind waiting for us at various locations. During our sightseeing tour with Mickey we visited the Mountain Batur Volcano – we made the mistake of eating at one of the restaurants there. Be warned the food was a terrible buffet – the most expensive meal we had on our holiday and by far the worst. All you pay for is the view, we were pressured into eating there by the restaurant staff. I am sure that view is available free of charge without having to eat in a restaurant.
