The sounds of the phone when ringing Bali may be different to calls in Australia and there could also be a time delay so allow for this or you talk over each other.

  7. Hi John
I’m travelling to Bali and Thailand in October 2016 and I have spent all day reading and writing notes from your site. I’m so excited after reading it all and feel a little bit more confident as this will only be my second overseas trip and my first time to Bali and Thailand.
Thank you for all you work and information and will definitely recommend your site to other travellers like myself.
I was wondering if you have done like this for Thailand.
    Well Done
    Regards Jenny

  8. Thanks for your kind words Jenny.
If you have not been overseas to a place that is very crowded before the sheer volume of people can be overwhelming. I suggest that your hotel pick you up from the airport or use G’day. It may take a couple of days to get used to Bali.
Sorry but i have not been to Thailand yet.

    Regards John

  9. Hi,
I’m looking to travel to Bali in July-August this year and would like to see as much as possible, including Kuta, Padangbai and Lembongan, but I’m not sure where to start or the best order to do them in. I’m travelling solo from the UK and it’s my first time in Indonesia and my first solo holiday. I’m a little anxious about travel between resorts, etc.

Do you have any advice, please?

    Kind Regards,
    Lizzie S

  10. I am not sure how you intend to travel around Bali but hitch hiking is out.
The only way to get around is to get a car with a driver, you can use G’Day or Mickey.
Every one in Bali has a family friend or relative that can drive you and that may be a cheaper option.
There a are lot of backpackers in Bali you may be able to find one of them on a internet site and link up.

    Cheers John
    Happy holiday.

  11. Gede & Micky thanks for making our holiday so special. I have been to Bali many times and you guys are the best in Bali. We really enjoyed our stay thanks to your knowledge of where to go.
